Sedation Dentistry

We understand that some patients are apprehensive about dental work, so we strive to make your experience as easy as possible. We offer nitrous oxide gas or a combination of nitrous oxide and oral sedation for your comfort. We provide a relaxed environment, where your wellbeing is our primary concern. Once you've experienced sedation dentistry, you may never be afraid to go to the dentist again.

Since you are completely comfortable, we can do years of dental treatments in as little as one or two visits.

You'll be sedated just enough to feel relaxed and may be unaware of the treatment. You'll wake up refreshed, with little or no memory of your visit.  Since you are completely comfortable, we can do years of dental treatments in as little as one or two visits.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, commonly called laughing gas, can be used on patients of all ages with few side effects. Nitrous oxide is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask. While breathing the gas the patient is likely to feel relaxed. Nitrous oxide also produces an anesthetic effect and an increased pain threshold in many patients. The effects wear off soon after the mask is removed.

Oral Sedation with Halcion

Halcion (triazolam) is an oral medication that is commonly used as a means to achieve conscious sedation for dental treatment of highly anxious patients. The use of Halcion helps reduce apprehension while maintaining consciousness and responsiveness at all times. The use of conscious sedation requires a pre-appointment consultation and evaluation with Dr. Quick.
Sedation dentistry involves taking a small pill an 1 ½ hours prior to your appointment.  A responsible adult must accompany you to the office.  By the time you arrive, you will be very drowsy.

When you arrive in our office, you will be escorted into and on a monitor to watch your vital signs.  After you are comfortable, the experienced clinical team will take care of your dental needs.

Conscious sedation make achieving your dental care so easy that many patients say it has changed their lives!
